I have always been and am an admirer of Late Mahmud Tarzi. He was the one who taught Afghans the alphabet of modern life 85 years before.
He was a great objective writer , visionary politician , kind teacher , great journalist and above all a greater human being.
We will never forget him and indeed I appreciate your work on him. You are a thoughtful grandson of a thoughtful grandfather.
Do keep his memory alive , his torch high and his ideas in action.

 Thank you for the information about the personnel and structure of MTCF. I would like to congratulate you for having undertaken steps to promote academic and cultural activity in Afghanistan under the name of your illustrious grandfather who, in my estimation, was the most influential force for modernization and Westernization in Afghanistan during the past century.

I assume MTCF is about to become an officially recognized NGO which, in additio to facilitating national and international statuses, will enable the foundation to seek and compete for material resources. And the degree of success in this search and competition will determing the nature and scope of the foundation's programs and activities. Given the structure that you outlined, I would be interested in membership in the Board of Trustees. Being an anthropologist with extensive academic and scholarly experience and interest in Afghansiatn, I could contribute to the formulation of the foundation's policies and programs dealing with academic and scholarly research and academically gauged cultural agenda. I envisage MTCF as an umbrella for facilitating academic research and publications (including a scholarly journal in the social sciences and humanities) in and about Afghanistan. In fact, I would encourage the planning and establishment of  a private university in Afghanistan in the name of Mahmud Tarzi. This will be a fitting memorial to him and a great service to Afghanistan. Best wishes.
